Sturgeon Heights CC 2021 Mini Soccer Online Registration Open Now!

2021 registration form URL:

Season runs from the beginning of May to the end of June. All games at SHCC Rita site.

New this year – you must register with the Manitoba Soccer Association to be eligible to participate. Link available from our registration page.

This program provides an introduction to the game of soccer. It begins teaching basic skills and movement in a fun setting. Every night a team will visit three different stations/coaches to practice a new game or skill for ten minutes.  After the skills stations, each team will play a twenty-minute game and enjoy a team snack afterwards.  Mini soccer is twice a week for May and June. Coaches will use the Soccer Canada Curriculum (Active Start U456/FUNdamental U 7/8).

Stage 1 – Active Start is designed for children 3 – 5 years old.  Gives the youngest players the opportunity to develop basic movement skills like running, jumping, landing, kicking, throwing and catching, all in a fun setting, built around informal play and positive reinforcement.

Stage 2 – Fundamentals is designed for children 6 – 8 years old.  Allows children to develop their ABC’S – Agility, Balance, Coordination and Speed – and learn the basics of the game while emphasizing on fun, cooperation, and maximum time on the ball.

Regular Online registration will be open from March 1 to April 29th, 2021.

All registrations received after April 29th are considered late and will be subject to a $10 late fee.

If you have any questions about registration please contact Domenica Nash – Hayden, Spring/Summer Sports Director at

Soccer registration is now open

Soccer registration is now open for the possible upcoming 2021 outdoor season.

Right now things look promising. However the SCSA and it’s member CC’s are awaiting instruction from the Province of Manitoba, the MSA & WYSA as to whether or not there will be an outdoor soccer season.

The Community Centre would rather be totally prepared for the season to start up, rather than scrambling with late registrations to fill holes and form the teams.

We are registering players to gauge the interest from Our community. No payment is required to register your child. Should we receive a green light for an outdoor season then and only then would payment be required through our online registration form.

This registration link is for U9 (2012) to U18 (2003) only:

If you have any questions or need help with registration please contact Todd, Sturgeon Heights CC soccer convenor at:

This suspension is temporary (as long as required by public order) and all programs and activities will be rescheduled as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

Please contact us for specific questions or inquiries.

Thank you for patience and understanding. We will advise as soon as programs and services can resume.

Sturgeon Heights AGM 2020

2020 Sturgeon Heights CC AGM

*New Date* Wednesday, September 23/20 7:00 pm.

Community welcome!

All provincial COVID-19 health guidelines in effect including sanitizing, social distancing, screening, and registration for contact tracing purposes.

Although some restrictions regarding the current COVID-19 situations appear to be slowly lifting, the current outlook for some youth sports is still under review and our centre remains closed to the public. There are many levels, both political and organizational that need to agree before we can progress at the community centre level.

The majority of our outdoor facilities and fields are bound by city permits and therefore must wait for the city and province. Sports organizations from the National, Provincial, Association and regional levels are also involved (for example, part of your registration fee goes towards that sport’s player insurance).

When/if sports are given the green light to proceed, registration for some sports will reopen. Note at this uncertain time we have no information as to what return to play will look like. SHCC Mini-Soccer is cancelled for the season and fees are being refunded. Refunds are available in other sports as well.

We will provide updates as they become available on our facebook page and website.

For more information please refer to the sport specific web sites.

Please feel free to contact us anytime at or 204-832-5991.

SHCC Outdoor Mini Soccer – Full Season Cancelled, credit cards to be refunded

SHCC Indoor Mini Soccer – Remainder of Season Cancelled, refund cheques to be mailed out

SHCC Outdoor U9 – U18 Soccer – Season Postponed, summer/fall league expected when safe to do so

Dear Sturgeon Heights families,

I hope this email finds you all well. You are receiving this email as a notice of refund for your child’s mini soccer registration. We have cancelled the program for the 2020 season at Sturgeon Heights CC.

We at Sturgeon Heights CC are committed to providing a program that is safe and protects the well being of all participants in the program. In these somewhat uncertain times, social/physical distancing itself is simply too difficult to run the mini program.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter. You should receive the refund to your credit card in 7-10 business days. If not please feel free to contact me. *For those of you who had your child enrolled in our mini indoor soccer program those refunds will be done by individual cheques. So they will take a bit longer, but they will be processed and mailed out to you ASAP. **For those of you with older children registered for outdoor soccer the MSA & WYSA are still hoping to have a season in July & August.

Only time will tell if that will come to fruition. If you wish to be refunded for that program please contact me anytime. We thank you for your patience. Take care and stay safe.

Sturgeon Heights Community Centre will close our facility to ALL public access effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice.

This decision to close our facilities at this time is related to the COVID-19 situation and, as a result of the City of Winnipeg’s recommendation to all Winnipeg community centres to close, following their announcement yesterday that all City of Winnipeg operated recreation facilities, libraries, etc. will close March 16, 2020.

This closure will result in the immediate postponement of all programs, services and rentals at our facility until further notice. We are asking for everyone’s patience and understanding, especially those who have valid and continuing registrations or memberships at our Centre, as we continue to assess the impact of this situation through these uncertain and ever-changing times.

As the situation progresses, we will be providing more details in terms of next steps as more information comes known. We want to assure all our patrons that we value your commitments to Sturgeon Heights Community Centre and will do our best to honour our commitments to you when we can open our doors again. Through this time, it is expected that our staff will be working hard to address the immediate needs/impacts related to this closure and to continue to plan for eventual reopening and resumption of rentals, programs, and services, when the time comes.

All ongoing rentals, programs, and services that are advance paid are being placed on hold for everyone as of March 17, 2020. Staff will be reaching out shortly to those with facility rental agreements, or outright cancelled events/programs scheduled to take place during the Mar 17 – Apr 15/20 period to discuss next steps or process refunds as necessary.

Thank you again for all your patience and understanding during this time. Please continue to refer to our website and Facebook page for the latest information concerning SHCC. Or feel free to call the club anytime at 204-832-5991.

The following linked information will also help address questions or concerns you may have related to COVID-19, including frequently asked questions, precautions you can take, and additional resources.
