Dear Sturgeon Heights families,

I hope this email finds you all well. You are receiving this email as a notice of refund for your child’s mini soccer registration. We have cancelled the program for the 2020 season at Sturgeon Heights CC.

We at Sturgeon Heights CC are committed to providing a program that is safe and protects the well being of all participants in the program. In these somewhat uncertain times, social/physical distancing itself is simply too difficult to run the mini program.

We appreciate your understanding in this matter. You should receive the refund to your credit card in 7-10 business days. If not please feel free to contact me. *For those of you who had your child enrolled in our mini indoor soccer program those refunds will be done by individual cheques. So they will take a bit longer, but they will be processed and mailed out to you ASAP. **For those of you with older children registered for outdoor soccer the MSA & WYSA are still hoping to have a season in July & August.

Only time will tell if that will come to fruition. If you wish to be refunded for that program please contact me anytime. We thank you for your patience. Take care and stay safe.

Sturgeon Heights Community Centre will close our facility to ALL public access effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020 until further notice.

This decision to close our facilities at this time is related to the COVID-19 situation and, as a result of the City of Winnipeg’s recommendation to all Winnipeg community centres to close, following their announcement yesterday that all City of Winnipeg operated recreation facilities, libraries, etc. will close March 16, 2020.

This closure will result in the immediate postponement of all programs, services and rentals at our facility until further notice. We are asking for everyone’s patience and understanding, especially those who have valid and continuing registrations or memberships at our Centre, as we continue to assess the impact of this situation through these uncertain and ever-changing times.

As the situation progresses, we will be providing more details in terms of next steps as more information comes known. We want to assure all our patrons that we value your commitments to Sturgeon Heights Community Centre and will do our best to honour our commitments to you when we can open our doors again. Through this time, it is expected that our staff will be working hard to address the immediate needs/impacts related to this closure and to continue to plan for eventual reopening and resumption of rentals, programs, and services, when the time comes. 

All ongoing rentals, programs, and services that are advance paid are being placed on hold for everyone as of March 17, 2020. Staff will be reaching out shortly to those with facility rental agreements, or outright cancelled events/programs scheduled to take place during the Mar 17 – Apr 15/20 period to discuss next steps or process refunds as necessary.

U5/6 (born in 2015/2014 ) – $75.00 – Play Tuesday/Thursday at 6:30 –

U7/8 (born in 2013/2012 ) – $95.00 – Play Monday/Wednesday at 6:30 –
7:50 pm

2020 winter mini soccer program

Sturgeon Heights CC is once again proud to announce our 2020 winter mini soccer program. This program will run for 10 weeks leading into the outdoor mini soccer season. Once again, our program will be run by Andrew Patton, along with Chantal Brodbeck. Both of these individuals have a strong soccer background and will provide a fun & safe environment for all participants. Our Program is designed for children ages 3-8. During this program players can expect to develop basic soccer skills, improve coordination and socialize in a fun, & inclusive environment. 

Registration opens January 8th and ends January 27th. 

Program info: Dates February 1, 8,22,29 March 7,14,21, ,28 April 4 & 18

Age Groups- 

3/4 yr olds – (January 1/16-March 1/17) 

30 minutes 

$40 12:00-12:30pm

5/6 yr olds – (2014/15) 

45 minutes 

$60 12:35-1:20pm

7/8 yr olds – (2012/13) 

45 minutes
